Forest Lake Roundabouts
Rode home on Monday night this week during the storm. Lots of lightning on the way, I felt like a lightning rod riding an aluminum bike with aluninum lights on my helmet! Anyway I survived the wet roads, tree debris everywhere only to nearly be taken out twice by two cars on Joseph Banks/Crossacres St & College Ave who decided to force the issue with who was boss by overtaking me at speed while I was on roundabouts. What is wrong with these people? Perhaps 4 white front lights putting out a mere 8000 lux each is not enough for these twits………
Forest Lake Social Ride
This Sunday 15th of March, there will be an inaugural social bike ride in the afternoon leaving the Forest Lake Village Coffee Club at 4.00 pm. This will be a very slow paced ride and everyone is welcome. Ideal for parents wanting to ride with the kids and also those who have been thinking about getting off the couch and dusting off the mountain bike for ages but have not yet found the motivation.
The ride will be for a maximum of 1 hour and is “social” chatting as we go around the lake and some local bike paths. Optional coffee stop after the ride finishes to keep chatting to new friends.
Forest Lake Cycling
8 riders out this morning! The group is slowly but surely growing each week. Great to see. Good 60 km ride this morning with coffee afterwards (Thanks Lance & Gayle). Vehicle drivers were generally all pretty good today too.
Cyclist Killed by Garbage Truck
What sad reading, how can these things keep on happening? What a waste of a life.
